Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Saidia Holiday Rentals ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit saidiaholidayrentals.com, make an enquiry, book a stay, or subscribe to our newsletter. We aim to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Morocco's Law 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data.

1. Who we are

Saidia Holiday Rentals is a privately managed holiday-rental business based in Saïdia, Province de Berkane, Oriental Region, Morocco. For the purposes of data protection law, we are the "data controller" for the personal data described in this policy.

2. What personal data we collect

We only collect what we genuinely need:

Enquiry & booking data — your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), travel dates, number of guests, the property you're interested in, and anything you write in your message.
Newsletter data — your email address and, optionally, your first name; the fact and date of your consent; and whether you have confirmed and/or later unsubscribed.
Reservation data — if you go on to book, details necessary to arrange and honour your stay (e.g. lead guest details, arrival information, and payment arrangements handled separately at the point of booking).
Technical data — basic, non-identifying information your browser sends when loading the site (such as general request logs kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability). We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking.

We do not knowingly collect special-category data (such as health or religious information). Please don't include such details in free-text fields.

3. Why we use it, and our legal bases

To answer your enquiry and arrange a stay — legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to a contract, and performance of a contract once you book.
To send our newsletter — legal basis: your consent, given by ticking the opt-in box and confirming via the link we email you. You can withdraw consent at any time (see section 8).
To send essential booking/transactional messages for a reservation you hold (e.g. check-in details, changes) — legal basis: performance of a contract. These are not marketing and continue only while relevant to your stay.
To keep the website secure and working — legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a safe, reliable site.
To meet legal obligations — for example keeping records required by tax or accommodation regulations — legal basis: legal obligation.

4. Cookies & similar technologies

This website is designed to work without non-essential cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, or third-party marketing pixels by default. Any strictly necessary items are limited to what's needed to load the site and remember your form choices during a single visit.

If we ever introduce optional analytics, we will ask for your consent first through a cookie banner, and this policy will be updated to describe it. Until then, there is nothing to opt into.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data — ever. We share it only with the limited service providers ("processors") we need to run the business, and only so they can perform tasks on our behalf:

Our website hosting provider, which stores the site and processes form submissions.
The provider we use to store and send our newsletter and booking messages, acting on our instructions.
Professional advisers (such as accountants) and authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information.

All processors are bound by contract to keep your data secure and to use it only for the purposes we specify.

6. International transfers

We operate from Morocco and may serve guests in the EU and elsewhere. Where a service provider processes data outside your country, we take steps to ensure an appropriate level of protection — for example, relying on providers that offer recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses. You may contact us for more information about a specific transfer.

7. How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't lead to a booking: up to 24 months, then deleted.
Booking records: for the duration of your stay plus the period required to meet legal, accounting and tax obligations.
Newsletter data: until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent, after which we remove you promptly (we may keep a minimal suppression record so we don't accidentally email you again).

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you;
Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
Ask us to erase your data ("right to be forgotten");
Restrict or object to certain processing;
Receive your data in a portable format;
Withdraw consent at any time — for the newsletter, use the unsubscribe link in any email or our unsubscribe page. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing already carried out.

To exercise any right, email privacy@saidiaholidayrentals.com. We'll respond within the timeframes required by law. If you're in the EU and believe we've mishandled your data, you may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority; in Morocco, the relevant authority is the CNDP (Commission Nationale de contrôle de la protection des Données à caractère Personnel).

9. How we protect your data

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures — including access controls and encrypted connections (HTTPS) — to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe and limit who can see it.

10. Children

Our website and services are intended for adults booking travel. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, where changes are significant, take reasonable steps to let you know.
